Rowan Cox had a stunner of a week in Irvine, dropping massive time in the 200 and 50 fly before coming into the 100 fly final. In that race, Cox finished 3rd behind Ilya Kharun and Caeleb Dressel, actually making up ground on Dressel in the 2nd 50 to touch at 50.64. This represents a massive lifetime best for the incoming Texas freshman as well as a 17-18 National Age Group Record.
After his big week, Cox commented on how training with Texas, and specifically lifting for the first time in his career, has had a positive impact on his swimming.
