Racing the Flagstaff Crest 39 Mile
The Flagstaff Crest 39 was much shorter than the distances I’m used to racing, but that would only mean having to run that much faster. At over 7,000 feet, the course would keep us high, and as it turned out, hotter than I expected. For me, that would mean solid heat training, and the perfect chance to test a new high-carb fueling plan before my next goal race. And after a week of watching others push themselves to the limit at the Cocodona 250, I would finally get to do the same.
