Boston College Football 2026 Preview

The Boston College Eagles are looking to take a step up in Year 3 under Bill O'Brien. The Eagles have undergone a lot of changes in the offseason with 50 new players on the roster. Newly hired Ted Roof will run the Eagles' defense while O'Brien will take over the play-calling on offense. Roof has over 35 years of coaching experience and has worked with O'Brien at several coaching stops, including being his defensive coordinator while O'Brien was coaching at Penn State. Quarterback Mason McKenzie transferred to the Eagles from Division 2 Saginaw Valley State, where he was the 2025 GLIAC Player of the Year and is expected to start. The Eagles also brought in running back Evan Dickens after he ran for 1,339 yards and 16 touchdowns at Liberty.
