Nikita Kucherov wants out of Tampa Bay. What does this mean for the Lightning and one of the NHL's biggest superstars? Jeff Marek and Greg Wyshynski break down the biggest story of the weekend, examining the timeline of Kucherov's contract situation, what may have led to his trade request, the Steven Stamkos effect, why he might want a fresh start, and which teams could potentially pursue him. With Tampa Bay GM Julien BriseBois publicly stating the team has no intention of trading Kucherov, where does this situation go from here? Jay Recher joins at 1:30 PM ET to provide the latest on Kucherov and the Lightning.
Plus, Jeff and Greg dig into the Winnipeg Jets' struggles, Dawson Mercer's play since the Connor Hellebuyck trade, Connor McDavid's record-setting start to the season, the NHL's new Hometown Remix jerseys, and the Seattle Kraken trading Shane Wright to the Nashville Predators for Matthew Wood. Is Scott Arniel starting to feel the heat in Winnipeg? All that and much more on today's edition of The Sheet!
