After having a subpar 200 Back prelims swim, Davis Jackson of the TAC Titans went into the 18&U final with a clear mind. From an outside lane (7), Jackson ripped a 1:58.67 at night, the only swimmer in the field to dip under the 1:59 barrier. After the race, Jackson noted that he tried to forget the prelims swim and focus on the task in front of him, saying, "the best swimmers are the ones that have really bad memories."
