Ryan sits down with The Critchfields before Jack threw out the first pitch. Jack and Mary Critchfield have had seats behind home plate in the DEX Home Plate Club since the Rays inaugural season in 1998. Jack, the former President and CEO of Florida Power (now Duke Energy) and retired Chairman of Florida Progress, was an integral part of bringing baseball to Tampa Bay. He is credited with galvanizing the St. Petersburg community and business leaders, and spearheaded a financial drive to ensure legal funding was available when the opportunity to bring Major League Baseball to Tampa Bay finally came.
