Sweden's world record holder Sarah Sjöström flew to Olympic glory to upset a stacked lineup in the women's 100m freestyle at Paris 2024. She touched the wall in 52.16 seconds, coming within a half-second of the world record she set in 2017, to upgrade her bronze medal in the event from Rio 2016 to its gold counterpart. USA's Torri Huske finished just 0.13 seconds behind Sjöström in 52.29 seconds to take the silver with Hong Kong, China's Siobhan Bernadette Haughey in third.
