The 2026-27 season promises to be one of growth for the Calgary Flames, with young players looking to make their mark and seize the opportunity in front of them.

That's especially true for 21-year-old Sam Honzek. The 2023 first-round pick has made the team out of training camp in each of the past three season, but has had injuries derail his path to becoming a full-time NHLer.

This year, he's determined to make his mark.

Honzek is one of many looking to solidify their place in this league, including newcomer Simon Nemec, who arrives from New Jersey in search of a bigger role - and, perhaps, with a chip on his shoulder.

We chronicle Honzek and Nemec's journey through training camp, while bringing you behind the scenes from opening day to the final cuts - PLUS, all the mic'd up access you could ever ask for!
