HIGHLIGHTS: Drew Romo Launches TWO HOME RUNS to Power White Sox Past Angels (4.28.26)
Baseball
The Chicago White Sox secured their fourth series victory of the season, recording their fourth win in five games against the American League West in 2026.
Colson Montgomery hit a solo home run off José Soriano in the 2nd inning to put the White Sox on the board, 1-0.
Drew Romo connected left-handed off Soriano for a two-run home run in the 4th inning, his first career MLB homer. Romo went deep again in the 6th, a solo shot to center field from the right side off Brent Suter, and Munetaka Murakami scored in the 7th when Sam Antonacci was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to make it 5-1.
Drew Romo became the seventh player in MLB history to record his first career home run from one side of the plate and his second from the other in the same game and first since Yasmani Grandal with San Diego (6/30/12). Romo, Grandal and U.L. Washington (9/21/1979) are the only three to do so in consecutive plate appearances.
Davis Martin earned the win, tossing 5.2 innings with one run and seven strikeouts. He is 4-1 with a 1.95 ERA (8 ER/37.0 IP), 1.08 WHIP, .239 (32-134) opponents average and 33 strikeouts over six starts this season.
Seranthony Domínguez worked a hitless 9th for his 7th save of the season.
The Chicago White Sox defeated the Los Angeles Angels, 5-2, on April 28, 2026 at Rate Field in Chicago, Illinois.
