I obviously think both riders are fantastic so I thought I would show you some clips from stage 7 of Tour de l'Avenir 2016, where David Gaudu bossed the mountains and put time into Egan Bernal. Other notable young climbers were also competing including Lennard Kamna and Antwan Tolhoek.
This clip is no knock on Bernal (he was only 19 after all) but I thought I would give the French fans something to cheer about as David Gaudu clearly has bright prospects as a Grand Tour rider. He set fierce pace on the front of the select GC group in the Pyrenees this year in the Tour de France and I think he should be given some opportunities by FDJ next year to be a GC contender in his own right.
