American record holder Jack Alexy proved his mettle in the 100 free last night in Irvine, getting his hand to the wall first in 47.14. Admittedly, Alexy did want to be a bit faster in the final, specifically dipping under the 47-second barrier. This comes after the European Championships final, where three men all swam a 46.xx. Alexy says it is inevitable that the event is getting this fast and motivating for him moving forward.
