Georgia and Philippines delivered an unforgettable showdown in Riga, with Georgia escaping with a dramatic 96-94 victory. Georgia looked in complete control after opening the game with a 16-0 run and building a 20-point lead, but Philippines stormed back, erased the deficit, and even took the lead in the third quarter before an incredible finish decided the game.

Despite the loss, Philippines advanced to the semifinals thanks to point differential, while Georgia celebrated the win but fell just short of the margin they needed to qualify. The game also featured a bizarre ending, as Georgia nearly tried to force overtime in the closing seconds because a larger winning margin was required for them to advance.
