The WNBA CBA Is Falling Apart…
The WNBA’s CBA negotiations have officially hit a breaking point, and over the last 72 hours the conversation has only grown more confusing. Reports surfaced claiming the league offered players a new deal featuring a potential $1.1 million maximum salary, a higher league average, and increased minimums. But almost immediately, players pushed back, with additional reporting revealing that the “$1.1M” figure wasn’t actually a base salary at all.. it was a bonus-dependent number, with the true base closer to $850K. As conflicting details continue to flood social media and major outlets, fans are left wondering what’s real and what’s spin.
At this stage, both the WNBA and its players appear to be fighting a public-relations battle as much as a financial one. Six months of back-and-forth leaks, contradictory reporting, and unclear demands have left fans exhausted and unsure who to trust. Most viewers no longer care about the small details.. they simply want to know if a 2025 WNBA season is happening or if a lockout is imminent.
What do you guys think happens as the next CBA deadline is just 9 days away? Let me know what you think in the comments!
