Tyler Seguin scored the game-tying goal with 29.9 seconds left in regulation, his first goal in nearly a year, helping the Dallas Stars earn a point in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night at PPG Paints Arena. Connor Dewar scored the opening goal of the game at 1:57 into the 3rd period – which ended Jake Oettinger’s personal shutout streak at a career-long 188:52 and the Stars team shutout streak at a franchise record 206:08. Seguin’s goal, his first since November 15, 2025, was his first since returning from ACL surgery that cut his 2025-26 season short in January. Seguin and Wyatt Johnston both scored in the shootout, but Ben Kindel, Sidney Crosby and Rikard Rakell all found the net in the skills competition to give the Penguins the victory, snapping a three-game winless skid (0-2-1). The point extends the Stars current point streak to three games (2-0-1), as they will now return home for a highly anticipated home-and-home back-to-back series with the Colorado Avalanche next Tuesday in Dallas and Wednesday in Denver.
