Then 18-year-old figure skater Nathan Chen made his Olympic debut at PyeongChang 2018. A fall during the men's singles short program cost the U.S. skater a spot on the podium. Four years later, at Beijing 2022, Chen returned stronger than ever. He won the gold medal by performing his short program to Elton John's "Rocket Man", setting a new world record with a score of 113.97 points.
