Katie Ledecky rounded out the Pro Swim in Indianapolis with a win in the 800 free, turning in a time of 8:12.87 that, in her words, "was ok, wasn't much of anything special". As the distance world record holder approaches yet another post-season with Team USA, she said something that showed just how much of a student of the sport she is.
Ledecky views the end of the season as a time to enjoy the process, not just focus on the times she goes at the big meet. She's also pushing herself in practice, seeing how fast she can go in the training leading up to whatever end-meet is coming. Perhaps at Pan Pacs, we will get to hear about some of those rested practice times.
