In today’s episode of Miami Heat Talk, I break down why I believe Andrew Wiggins could be the perfect No. 3 option for the Miami Heat heading into this season.

Wiggins averaged 15.5 points per game last season while shooting an impressive 41.5% from three-point range, and his development as a perimeter shooter could be a HUGE factor for Miami.

But the biggest thing that stands out to me is the overall improvement in his game.

Wiggins has become a more reliable three-point shooter, while also continuing to provide valuable perimeter defense, athleticism, length, rebounding, and versatility. Put that next to Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, and suddenly Miami has a potential Big 3 that could complement each other extremely well.

Giannis is going to demand attention inside. Bam can operate as a versatile two-way big. That leaves Wiggins in a potentially ideal role where he doesn’t have to carry the offense every night.

He can defend the opposing team’s best perimeter players, knock down open threes, attack closeouts, run the floor, and score efficiently without needing the ball in his hands constantly.

And that’s exactly why I believe Andrew Wiggins could be the perfect No. 3 piece for this Miami Heat roster.
