The Miami Heat could be looking to add another versatile piece to their roster!

According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors have all shown interest in veteran wing John Konchar.

So who exactly is John Konchar, and why could he be such a GREAT fit in Miami?

Konchar is a 6-foot-5 veteran wing who has built his NBA career by doing all the little things that winning teams need. He doesn’t need the ball in his hands, he can defend multiple positions, rebound at a high level for his position, move the basketball and provide some floor spacing.

Last season, Konchar averaged 4.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 47.2% from the field. Over his NBA career, he’s averaged 4.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists, while shooting 34.9% from three-point range.

And honestly, THIS is why I think Miami makes so much sense.

The Heat don’t necessarily need another player who needs 15 shots a night. With Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo leading the way, Miami needs players who can defend, rebound, make the extra pass, knock down open shots and play within themselves.

Konchar fits that mold.

He could give Miami another physical wing who can help defensively, crash the boards, keep the ball moving and contribute without taking touches away from the stars.

And considering the Heat’s emphasis on versatility, toughness and team basketball, Konchar feels like the type of player Miami could get a LOT out of.

The question is: Should the Miami Heat actually sign John Konchar?
