The College Football Experience (@TCEonSGPN) on the Sports Gambling Podcast Network continues its college football Week 5 reaction show with Pick Dundee aka (@TheColbyD), Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) and Troy Chewning (@Troychewning) going through every big result from Friday night through the late Saturday window.
Is the Chip Kelly offense at Northwestern the most fun thing in the sport after 415 rushing yards against Penn State? How on earth did Mississippi Valley State beat Prairie View? Can West Virginia stop anybody after Iowa State hung 45 on them? Is it time for Colorado to move on from Deion Sanders after a 29-7 loss to Texas Tech? And how did San Diego State beat Texas State while getting outgained 565 to 239? We talk it all and more on this episode of The College Football Experience.
The weekday slate was rough for Pick Dundee. Western Kentucky got drilled by three touchdowns at New Mexico State with $200 of his money on the Hilltoppers. Tulsa and North Texas turned into one of the wildest games of the year with a catch that was clearly out of bounds and a two-point try nobody could overturn. Pitt and Virginia Tech came down to a final kick the guys still argue about, and Mason Heintschel is now out for the season for Pitt.
Friday's best game was a blowout. Northwestern ran for 415 yards against Penn State with a wing T and flexbone look that Pick Dundee calls the best thing to happen to football since Paul Johnson at Georgia Tech. He cashed Northwestern and Ryan McIntyre had Penn State.
The winners: UCF covered and hit the first-half moneyline against Houston, Bowling Green won outright over Miami Ohio, Texas A&M rolled Arkansas 34-7 laying 13.5, and the number one play, Temple on the moneyline, held on 17-13 over South Florida. The losers: UTEP +23.5 lost 61-7 to Jason Eck's New Mexico, which Pick Dundee calls his worst pick of the season, Navy +3.5 died on a missed short field goal, and he's officially done fading JMU.
There's also a Colorado rant on why Jason Eck makes sense in Boulder, plus Tyson Summers walking off at Colorado State and Mike Locksley somehow still employed after Nebraska beat Maryland. Game balls go to Northwestern, Minnesota, Kentucky and Will Stein, Keylon Russell and Alabama, Baylor, Missouri and Austin Simmons, Idaho, Mississippi Valley State, and Dante Reno, who led Yale to a win days after his father Tony Reno passed away.
