Francisco Alvarez talks first spring action, improving nutritional routine and the ABS Challenge system. Brett Baty comments on adjusting to playing several defensive positions while still staying sharp at the plate. Tobias Myers puts trust in Mets' pitching coaches to determine his role for 2026. Veteran reliever Craig Kimbrel wasn't happy with the two walks he surrendered in his appearance on Saturday but otherwise feels he's progressing on schedule. Manager Carlos Mendoza termed Brett Baty's play at first base as a "work in progress" but that his priority defensively will 1B and right field. Mendoza was pleased with Myers getting his work in and throwing strikes. He called it "way too early" to evaluate Craig Kimbrel's status on the bullpen depth chart.
