The rapid development cycles in the eMTB world continue to promise more and more, particularly when it comes to power and torque outputs. While that aggressive development has yielded some impressive leaps in recent years, it does little for those searching for a bike that handles like, well, a bike. Weight is one of the harder things to reduce in an eMTB system, as the key components are inherently heavy, and the build kits tend to bloat in tandem.
Aiming to keep builds light while still offering a powerful experience, Orbea has updated their Rise family with the new EP810 motor from Shimano, offering high torque and solid power outputs, all in a relatively slim package. There are two core models to discuss, the Rise SL and Rise LT, both with their own travel numbers and build kit options, though they do share the same carbon fiber frame.
