Comedian, broadcaster and former PE teacher Mike Bubbins returns to train with his friend Sam Warburton in Part 2 of their Open Gym conversation at SW7 Academy.
Mike and Sam continue their honest and very funny discussion about fitness, ageing and what it takes to stay strong as life changes. They explore why training still matters in your 50s, how your approach to exercise needs to evolve and the importance of building strength, fitness and healthy habits that can be maintained for the long term.
Having trained together regularly, Sam and Mike offer two very different perspectives on performance. Sam brings the experience of a former Wales and British & Irish Lions captain, while Mike shares the realities of balancing training with work, family and everyday life. Together, they show that fitness in your 50s doesn’t need to mean chasing your younger self—it’s about continuing to move well, feel capable and enjoy the process.
Expect real training, an honest conversation and plenty of laughs as Mike Bubbins and Sam Warburton discuss men’s health, strength training, longevity and getting older without giving up on your fitness.
Open Gym goes beyond achievements and public personas to uncover the experiences, challenges and lessons that shape people who have performed at the highest level.
