Joey Votto Says He Wants To Be Cincinnati Reds GM 👀

Joey Votto as the general manager of the Cincinnati Reds? 👀

Votto had some fun with that idea Tuesday during an appearance on MLB Now.

The longtime Reds star, who joined NBC Sports this offseason, was part of a discussion about former MLB players transitioning into front-office positions after their playing careers.

That’s when Votto jumped in:

“Yeah, if they want to give me the Reds job, I’ll take it,” Votto said with a smirk. “Yeah, just give me the GM [job], I will take it.”

Knowing Votto and his sense of humor, the comment was almost certainly tongue-in-cheek.

But you can probably imagine how quickly Reds fans would get behind the idea of one of the most beloved players in franchise history helping run the organization.
