DC Steve Belichick RESIGNS as North Carolina wraps football investigation

North Carolina has concluded its investigation into its football program and issued this statement: “The investigation determined that certain actions demonstrated a disregard for Carolina’s values and standards of conduct. The investigation also found that these actions were isolated in scope and not a systemic failure.”

In other words, the school won’t be trying to use the results of this investigation to fire coach Bill Belichick. But the investigation did result in the resignation of Bill’s son Steve. Steve Belichick, North Carolina’s defensive coordinator, has been on medical leave since last month.

Earlier, the investigation resulted in the resignation of general manager Michael Lombardi — a longtime Bill Belichick consigliere.
