Julien Alfred enters the Golden Gala Pietro Mennea in Rome as the world leader in the women's 200m, having run 21.86 in Texas in April. Thursday will be her Diamond League season opener — and the first time she's gone head-to-head with Melissa Jefferson-Wooden over half a lap.
The Saint Lucian's last twelve months have been historic: Olympic 100m gold in Paris, world 100m bronze in Tokyo behind Jefferson-Wooden.
In this conversation, Julien walks us through what's gone into the 2026 build, the 21.86 in Texas and what it told her about her 200m ceiling.
