In today’s video, Alex reviews the Mizuno Hyperwarp Pure 2, the second version of Mizuno’s lightweight race-focused model, and a clear update from the first Hyperwarp Pure.
The original version was extremely fast, but also quite demanding. With the Hyperwarp Pure 2, Mizuno seems to have made the shoe more accessible while keeping the same performance DNA. It still sits in that lightweight, efficient racing category, with a Mizuno Enerzy XP+ midsole and a carbon plate setup designed for speed, responsiveness, and energy return.
The big difference comes from the ride. Where the V1 felt aggressive and required strong mechanics, the Pure 2 feels smoother, more natural, and easier to enjoy. Alex finds it especially interesting for runners who land and push from the forefoot, as the geometry feels more forward-driven and works best when you start picking up the pace.
