Five In Five: The Enzo Maresca Era Begins

Go behind-the-scenes on our perfect start to the 2026/27 Premier League season ahead of the competition's return this weekend.

We head to Liverpool in a 16:30 (UK) kick-off on Sunday that sees us seek to defend our 100% record thus far under Enzo Maresca.

The Italian has led us to victory in each of our five league games since returning to the Etihad Stadium this summer, with City sitting pretty at the top of the table over the course of this extended international break.

Our boss is just the sixth manager in Premier League history to begin a managerial reign with five successive wins and this feature takes you behind the curtain into what made that start possible.

City Studios cameras go into the dressing room before and after matches, as well spending time with the players in previously unseen footage at the City Football Academy.
It shows a positive group of players working hard and gelling quickly after significant changes over a short period of time, led by a manager with a clear idea of how he wants his side to play.
Whether it's the response to Erling Haaland's fresh haircut before the season opener or the focus required for the dramatic win over Manchester United, the players were ready to go with the new campaign.
