Rising Indiana sophomore Josh Bey entered this LCM season with a chip on his shoulder. Last summer, competing at the 2025 World University Games, Bey qualified for the 200 Breast final but was ultimately DQ'ed for a one-handed touch. Bey was determined to put together a strong redemption swim and he did just that last night in Irvine.
In a race between himself and Gabe Nunziata that came down to the touch, Bey got his hand to the wall first, finishing in 2:07.58 to Nunziata's 2:07.62. This makes them the #2 and #3 performers in the world this year and #6 and #7 American performers of all-time.
