NC State Pitcher Jacob Dudan | 2026 MLB Draft

NC State right-handed pitcher Jacob Dudan was selected 83rd overall in the 2026 MLB Draft by the Athletics. While he will miss most, if not all, the 2027 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. Dudan was leading the ACC in innings pitched and was sixth in strikeouts when he got injured this past season. The Athletics are getting a player who could have gone in the middle of the first round if not for the injury. He has shown the ability to hit 99mph, with his fastball averaging 96. He also has a great slider that had a 48% wiff rate, and a solid mid-80s changeup that he uses occasionally. While it might take a little extra time for him to produce on the field, there is a chance that Athletics might have gotten a huge steal in the draft with Jacob Dudan.
