We last touched on the Santa Cruz Blur in the 2021 Field Test, where the TR trim was stacked up against a few other long-legged XC bikes to see how the pointy end of that category stacked up. Fast forward five years, and we're looking at a world of cross-country race bikes that feature far more aggressive geometry and the same amount of suspension travel as that group, all with the intention as going as fast as possible.
The Blur has been in Santa Cruz's lineup for a long time, wearing many hats under that iconic name. The past few iterations have been a tried and true XC bike, albeit with some trail-oriented builds sprinkled in to spice things up. The newest take on the Blur sticks to the XC theme, now with 120mm of travel front and rear, and a range of builds all targeting speed on dirt, be it for racing or covering ground all day long.
