The match began with a serve from Daniil Golovanov, who had received the MVP award for the best player in the preliminary round of the World League. After returning to the front line, he was replaced by the more experienced Anton Andreev. In the opening set, the Surgut team gained a breakaway advantage thanks to two mistakes by Vitaly Fettsov. However, this advantage did not last long. Gradually, the visitors broke through the hosts' defense and took the lead, with Maksimov scoring a passing ball and Yurinsky and Kostadinov being blocked (14:18). It seemed that Gazprom-Ugra was returning to the game, but in the very end, the Ugra captain hit an out twice, resulting in a 25-22 victory for the guests.
In the second set, the hosts continued to make mistakes: the poor quality of the Yugra players' reception and their serves allowed Yenisei to gain a small lead (13:16). Kirillov "covered" Stern's sky, correcting another reception on the opponent's side, but these individual feats did not change the overall game dynamics. The guests were more focused and did not want to give up their lead. Two consecutive time-outs did not help Gazprom-Ugra: Yurinsky's out-of-bounds hit gave the Krasnoyarsk team a set point, and soon Galimov put an end to the match from the second zone, 25:20.
In the third set, it became clear that Nikiforov's signature attacks were not working on this day, and the Yenisei players skillfully returned all other balls through Fetsov, Stern, and Galimov to the hosts' half. Despite the challenges, Gazprom-Ugra managed to hold on to the beginning of the game and even led the score for a while (9:8). Nevertheless, the Krasnoyarsk team quickly changed the balance of power: Galimov shortened Kostadinov's serve and earned a free ball, which Osipov confidently converted through Maksimov (13:17). Towards the end of the match, the Yugra team attempted to make a desperate comeback (17:19), but after a timeout, the visitors tilted the scales in their favor: Galimov once again sealed the deal with a 25:19 score. Enisey took the lead in the series.
