In the pursuit of who the worst team in NHL history was, we take a look at the 1943-1944 New York Rangers. A 6 win season was the result of a series of circumstances far outside of their control. Yet through this season the Rangers served as a common denominator among the careers of some of the NHL's greatest players, award winners, military serviceman and the Second World War. This episode aims to prove that while the team was wildly fascinating, the Rangers were victim to a series of influences that made their season the worst in NHL history and set the team and franchise up to not achieve their main goal for decades, winning.
