Episode Notes

The Miami Dolphins turned the ball over 3 times and failed on a 4th down and short in the 3rd quarter- leading to 5 straight touchdowns and turning a close game into a 45-21 blowout loss in rookie Quinn Ewers’ debut as the new starting quarterback.

Ewers led the Miami offense on 2 touchdown drives in the 1st half, making throws, spreading the ball around and showing a nice command of the offense. The Dolphins took a 14-10 lead late in the 2nd quarter, but the defense gave up a 7-play, 1:00 TD drive to give the Bengals a 17-14 lead at the half.

Then came the 3rd quarter, and as we all know, the start of the 2nd half has spelled disaster for Miami all season.

Bengals blew the game wide open with 28 points off 4 straight Dolphins turnovers.

Ewers threw 2 interceptions and was stopped on a 4th & 1 QB sneak in his 1st career start.

Ewers- a 7th-round pick out of the University of Texas- completed 20 of 30 throws for 260 yards in his debut after taking over for Tua Tagovailoa earlier this week.

De’Von Achane ran for 81 yards on 15 carries, including a 48-yards touchdown. Jaylen Wright and WR Malik Washington added TD runs for Miami.

Jaylen Waddle led the Dolphins’ receiving corps with 5 catches for 72 yards. Tight Ends Darren Waller and Greg Dulcich- whose fumble on the 1st drive of the 2nd half opened the floodgates- each caught 3 passes.

Burrow threw for 309 yards and 4 touchdowns, completing 25 of 32 throws with a 146.5 passer rating

Two of Burrow's touchdown passes went to running back Chase Brown, who ended up with 66 yards rushing- including a 12-yard TD run- and 43 receiving yards.

Ja’Marr Chase caught 9 passes for 109 yards, and Tee Higgins made an incredible catch on a 9-yard TD grab. Former Dolphin Mike Gesicki added a 17-yard TD to add insult to injury.
