The New York Mets defeated the Washington Nationals 8-1 for their third straight victory.
It was a game where everything was rolling for the Mets. First, it was a much needed bounce-back performance from David Peterson. He threw a gem, striking out 10 over 8 innings of one run ball.
Offensively, the Mets just keep rolling. Another day, another home run for Mark Vientos. Brett Baty added a solo shot, as did Juan Soto and Jeff McNeil in a power surge for New York.
