The Scottish Highlands with Brian Kirschner

In this episode of Inside Golf Podcast, Andy Lack is joined by Brian Kirschner to recap a September Scottish Highlands trip for Andy’s bachelor party, planned with East Sands Golf, covering the smooth logistics, budget flexibility and the golfers they met.

They flew into Edinburgh and played six rounds in five days, opening at Nairn, which they highly recommend for its standout routing, and finding Moray at Lossiemouth solid but less essential. Gil Hanse’s Castle Stuart brings dramatic views and extreme wind and is pricey but a must for Brian, while Royal Dornoch, with its strong Donald Ross connections, tough wind and great caddies, is the centerpiece and their top course. A 36-hole day pairs Brora, a links with grazing animals and electric fences, with surprise favorite Golspie and its seaside-to-heathland variety and standout par-3 16th. Brian closes on how different and compelling golf abroad can be.
