RICK ZOMBO | Ice Guardians Ep 48

Kelly Chase and Brett Hull come to you from the Window World Studio with former NHL defenseman Rick Zombo. Hully and Zombo talk about growing up in the Chicago area and some of the guys they played youth hockey with and against and Zombo tells the guys about his road to the USHL and University of North Dakota. Zombo and Hully talk about the atmosphere of college hockey venues when they played and the guys all relive some of their favorite memories from the rivalry between Detroit and St. Louis, including one of the greatest fights in NHL history. Zombo tells Hully about his time in Detroit and what it was like playing there when all the European players started joining the team. The guys also talk about the alumni group in Detroit and about how great the Ilitch family is to the team. Zombo remembers one of the best pieces of advice he received about connecting with the local community and he fills the guys in on some of the troubles he has faced in his life since leaving hockey.
