Episode Notes

The Phillies clinched a first-round bye on Wednesday night, and they did it in historic fashion.

They smashed a franchise-record eight home runs in a victory over the Marlins. Edmundo Sosa hit three, becoming the first shortstop in Phillies history to homer three times in a game. Kyle Schwarber hit two, moving within two homers of tying Ryan Howard’s franchise-record 58 homers in a season. Bryson Stott, Alec Bohm and Otto Kemp also homered.

We also talk about the craziness in the NL Wild Card race, and Jesús Luzardo’s impressive first season in Philadelphia.
