There was giant killing galore in the FA Cup third round as lowly clubs like Macclesfield and Brighton knocked out teams like Crystal Palace and Man United.

As United were knocked out of the FA cup the news has come out that Michael Carrick will in fact be the clubs interim manager until the end of the season, and not Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as it looked. What did Ole say during the interview?

The biggest game and story of the week came live from center of the known universe Saudi Arabia, as the Spanish super cup took place between Barcelona and Real Madrid. Barcelona were the winners on the day, and that was the final straw for Xabi Alonso as manager.

What next for Alonso? A nice break? The Liverpool job that seems written in the stars? Or should he really steamroll ahead with damaging his career and head to Man United in the summer?
