Episode Notes

Just over a year ago, England won the inaugural Over-70s Men’s Cricket World Cup, defeating Australia in the final at Wormsley.

In this episode of The Paddock and The Pavilion, Stephen Wallis is joined by John Evans, England’s captain on that historic day, as he looks ahead to the Silver Ashes tour in Australia and the prospect of a second World Cup in New Zealand in February and March 2026.

Also on the show is Murry Harrison, who played in the 2025 final and is aiming to be part of both the Silver Ashes and the upcoming World Cup.

It’s shaping up to be an exciting year for the England Over-70s side, and The Paddock and The Pavilion will be following all the action.
