How can Flyers avoid leadership issues of the Claude Giroux era?

Let’s just accept the framing that during Claude Giroux’s tenure as captain of the Philadelphia Flyers there was a leadership problem. The team clearly had bigger issues (lack of talent, first time coaches, bad drafts and contracts) but for the sake of argument, let’s accept it.

How can the current Flyers learn from the mistakes of those teams and avoid the same “problems” in the locker room?
