Liverpool's £40M Midfield GEM?! Banjaqui & Altimira Discussed

Dave Davis returns with another edition of Newsround, taking a closer look at Liverpool's search for midfield reinforcements and two intriguing talents attracting attention across Europe.

Sporting CP midfielder Sergi Altimira is under the spotlight following reports of Liverpool's interest. Dave examines the Spaniard's impressive statistics, including his 93% passing accuracy, strong tackling numbers and remarkable 75% aerial duel success rate. Could Altimira provide a more affordable alternative to Monaco's Lamine Camara?

Attention then turns to Benfica youngster Daniel Banjaqui, a player Dave rates extremely highly. With Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Atlético Madrid also reportedly monitoring the talent, Dave explains why Liverpool should seriously consider a move if a deal around £40million becomes possible.

The discussion also touches on Liverpool's need for younger, hungrier players who fit Andoni Iraola's system, rather than simply chasing expensive names.

With Julian Ward facing a crucial period in Liverpool's recruitment strategy, could Banjaqui and Altimira represent the type of smart business the Reds desperately need?
