In this episode of The Your Golf Performance Podcast, I sit down with Australian golf legend Steve Allan, fresh off an incredible season with three wins on the PGA Tour Champions. We dive into Steve’s early days in golf, the practice habits that shaped his career, and what he learned from spending decades competing alongside the world’s best players. Steve opens up about handling nerves under pressure, including insights from his European Tour win and his memorable Australian Open victory. We also explore how Steve has adapted his training, practice, and fitness from his 40s into his 50s to remain competitive at the highest level — and what finally clicked to allow him to win multiple times on the Champions Tour. To finish, Steve shares a rare and honest look at raising his sons who are now becoming high-level golfers, including how he’s guided their development, managed expectations, and balanced being a dad with his experience as a tour professional. This episode is packed with timeless lessons on longevity, practice, mindset, and performance — whether you’re a junior golfer, parent, coach, or lifelong student of the game.
