Vancouver Canadians outfielder Je'Von Ward chats with host K.P. Wee before a home game in late May 2025. 

Drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 12th round of the 2017 MLB draft, the native of Cerritos, CA, spent seven seasons with the organization, reaching High-A ball in 2021 and 2023.

Ward began 2024 playing for Kane County (Illinois) in independent baseball before being signed by the Toronto Blue Jays organization. That season, he played 63 games in Vancouver, hitting .279 with seven home runs. He was assigned back to Vancouver at the start of 2025.

At the time of the conversation, Ward was hitting .198 in 35 games with Vancouver but getting on base at a career-best .417 clip, thanks to his 37 walks in 139 plate appearances.
