The recruiting dead period is nearly over, and things are heating up in high school football. Today on the BWI Live Recruiting Show, we're discussing the best upcoming high school football games to watch in the first weekend of the season, commits and prospects we're interested in watching this fall, plus discussing Penn State football's most recent commit. Join Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz, Blue White Illustrated's recruiting reporters, as they discuss the latest intel on Nittany Lions recruiting.

Penn State prospects we're eager to watch this fall

High school football games start this weekend. So as promised, we're previewing the best games of the weekend and then taking a longer look at the upcoming season. We'll start the show by discussing the Penn State commits and prospects we're most interested in watching this upcoming season. Snyder wrote about four that he wants to watch this fall, and we'll add four of our own to the conversation. 

Next, we'll preview the weekend slate of games that include Penn State commits and targets to kick off the high school football season. Who is Snyder traveling to watch this weekend? He'll discuss the games that fans should know about or keep an eye on this weekend to see how some of the top targets perform in their junior and senior seasons. 

Recapping Gabe Jenkins' commitment 

Blue White Illustrated also connected with recent 2027 commit Gabe Jenkins' head coach at Imani Christian Academy, LaRoi Johnson about the latest player from his school to land with the Nittany Lions. Jenkins is the third Imani Christian football player to land with the team in as many years and the third player to be given an "athlete" tag in recruiting. Snyder will give his thoughts on what Jenkins brings to the Class of 2027. 

Finally, we'll preview the upcoming 2028 recruiting class. On3 released the initial way-too-early rankings for the class this week, so we'll cover which players Penn State has connections to so far. Is it a strong year for the region so far? Snyder and Fitz will give their thoughts about the upcoming sophomores who have received national attention early in their careers.
