RED SOX POSTCAST: Buehler Shaky Start & Rough Finish; Sox Drop Finale in Houston

The Red Sox (66-56) closed out their 6-game road trip with a 4-1 loss to the Houston Astros Wednesday night at Daikin Park in Houston. The Sox dropped 2 of 3 to the Astros and went 2-4 against the Padres and Astros. The Sox have 40 Games remaining in the regular season and open up a 5-Game Homestand at Fenway Friday night.

Buehler in Finale: The Sox handed the ball to Walker Buehler for the start in the series finale against the Astros Wednesday night. Buehler gave up a leadoff Home Run to Jeremey Pena to start the game. The Astros added a 2nd run in the 1st inning on a 2-out Single from Yainer Diaz. Buehler settled in nicely after the 1st Inning and he retired 9 in a row and 15 of 16 before running into trouble in the 6th. Buehler walked a hitter with 2 outs and then Diaz made it 4-1 with a 2-run Home Run. Buehler went 6.0 IP and allowed 4 earned runs on 4 Hits (2 Home Runs). He walked 4 and struck out 3. He departed the game with the Sox trailing, 4-1.

Sox at the Dish: The Sox got on the board against Hunter Brown with Ceddanne Rafaela knocking in a run with a 2-out Single. Brown departed after allowing 1 earned run over 6.2 Innings. Top-3 Hitters in the Sox lineup (Anthony, Bregman & Duran) combined to go 0-for-8 with a walk against Brown. Roman Anthony went 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts in the Loss. Boston went 1-2-3 in 4 different innings against Brown and the Houston bullpen. The Sox had 2 on with no one out in the 9th but Bryan Abreu retired the next 3 hitters to finish off the win. The Sox went 1-for-10 with RISP and left 8 runners on base.
