Our featured guest this week is Matthew Hutchison (*47:36*) ; a goalie phenom who has been making headlines all over Vancouver Island since the age of 14, and is the only goalie to win a Jr.B, Jr.A and WHL game all at the age of 15! We sat down with Hutchy for an in-depth conversation about his journey through hockey, reminiscing about his early days with the Silvertips, his initial BCHL games as a Cowichan Capital, his triumphant season with the Championship-winning Oceanside Generals, and his eventful first full year with the Vancouver Giants in the WHL. A particularly revealing part of our discussion centred on the mental challenges he faced throughout the season. Matty shared candid insights into the psychological struggles and off days that tested his resilience, and he discussed how he fortified his mental game to navigate these tough periods during his first full WHL season.
