Welcome along to 'COACHING DIARIES' - a brand new series from The  Honest Football Podcast. This series sees one of our hosts, Charlie, a part time football coach and PE teacher, meet the great and the good in the world of sport. As a teacher, Charlie has always been fascinated by the way coaching works in different sports and the impact they can have on me as a football coach. Each week, we meet coaches from different parts of the sporting world. We will drill down into their philosophies, values and techniques in their field and find out what makes them so great at what they do.

Next up in  our series we meet Ice Hockey expert Coach Dave Smith, (@RPI_HockeyCoach). Dave is a former pro, having almost of his career in the US. Once he hung up his skates, Dave became a coach and has since had a successful career coaching at various colleges and Univeristies across America and subsequently been a Head Coach for the last 15 years. Following a successful spell as Head Coach of Canisius Uni, Buffalo, NY in which the team competed at National Level, Dave can now be found plying his trade as Head Coach of the RPI Engineers in Troy, NY.  A truly amazing man and a cracking episode from beginning to end.
