EP02 - Mike de Villiers

A cold and windy August morning… We had the privilege of spending time with Mike De Villiers, a mysterious yet very well known figure around Modderfontein Golf Club.
With just under 45 years of dedication and commitment to the club you can only imagine he has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the industry. We were lucky enough to get comfy in what’s known to be Mikes Pro Shop as he shared with us some of his greatest memories playing this game and friendships that would later become a brotherhood. After a morning spent with Mike and getting to know him better, something that will stick with us for a long time was the dedication he has shown to golf and the life it has given him in return. Although we all share very similar experiences like sinking that putt to save par or making a great escape out of a tight lie, golf is most certainly unique to each and every one of us and Mike is a great reminder of that.
