RED SOX POSTCAST: NO Sweep in the Bronx

The Red Sox (71-60) were unable to pull off the series sweep and dropped a 7-2 decision to the New York Yankees in the Bronx Sunday night. With the loss, the Sox 8-game win streak vs. the Yankees came to an end. With the loss, the Red Sox also failed to get to 13 games above .500 for the 3rd time this season. The Sox remain 5.0 games behind the Blue Jays for 1st-place in the AL East and are 0.5 game ahead of the Yankees for the A.L's top Wild Card Spot.

Going with Dustin: Dustin May made the start and took the loss on Sunday's finale in the Bronx. The 27-year-old gave up 5 earned runs on 5 hits over 4.1 Innings. He walked 3 and struck out 3. May allowed the leadoff man to reach in all 5 innings he worked. He gave up 3 Home Runs on the night including 2 off the bat of Trent Grishman. The Red Sox are 1-3 in May's first 4 starts since being acquired from the Dodgers at the trade deadline.

Sox at the Dish: The Sox were shutout by Carlos Rodon over the first 5 innings but managed to work (37 Pitches in the 6th) the Yankees starter in the 6th and chased him from the game. Rodon gave up only 1 hit, a Single from Alex Bregman in the 1st Inning, but he also walked 5 in his outing. He left with the bases loaded and up, 5-0 in the 6th. Reliever Luke Weaver gave up a 2-out, 2-run Single to pinch-hitter Nathaniel Lowe. The 2 runs were charged to Rodon. Weaver came back and struck out Jarren Duran to limit the damage. The Sox managed only 5 Hits and went 1-for-6 with RISPN on the night against Rodon and New York's bullpen.
