Episode Notes

Shannon Boxx looks back on her 12-year career with the USWNT. Beginning with her first cap as a 26-year-old in 2003, she became the first uncapped player to be named to a World Cup roster and within two years was named a finalist for the 2005 FIFA World Player of the Year. A three-time Olympic Gold Medalist, and 2015 World Cup champion, Boxx ranks 12th in USWNT history with 195 caps (the most by any Black player – male or female – in U.S. Soccer history). Her longevity and success came despite battling two autoimmune diseases throughout her career.
